Occupational Therapy

April is Occupational Therapy Month, and this year’s theme—“To Inspire Hope and Change Lives”—reflects the heart of everything our S2 occupational therapists do.

From rebuilding confidence after injury to helping individuals safely return to work, our OTs are changing lives every day. Their dedication, compassion, and job-specific expertise are key to guiding injured workers toward lasting recovery.

Want to see the difference they’re making?👇 Explore the powerful success stories below!

"Back in June 2024, I broke my right hand (4th metacarpal) on the job. I felt very anxious, stressed, and not as confident. I'm right hand dominant. When I had to switch to my left hand for all my daily tasks at home and work, it was very frustrating. Tasks such as typing with left hand, cutting with kitchen knives, basically everything. I started rehab in August. Throughout the rehab process the therapists were very friendly, positive, encouraging, and patient to help reach my goals for two to five months. Today, I feel like I have full capability of right hand. I'm more confident and stronger than ever." - M.H.

A NURSE'S FOREARM NERVE AND LIGAMENT DAMAGE

"I am a nurse and was injured at work, I had a partial tear of a tendon and two ligaments in my forearm. I felt very discouraged & helpless at work since my job required a lot of patient transfer & ambulating. I felt weak when doing minor things like picking up my coffee mug or washing dishes. I have become much stronger & confident throughout my therapy. I have even been taught better body mechanics to hopefully prevent a future injury. I am able to help transfer & move patients more at work. I can do daily chores & duties now with no struggle. I'm grateful for my provider giving me this opportunity to heal & get stronger. The team at Spine Solutions is amazing & really great to work with. They are all very knowledgeable and friendly." - A.G.

INJURED HAND WHILE USING A MOP BUCKET

"I injured my right hand at work when utilizing a yellow bucket to squeeze the water out of the mop. After, I had pain and in the morning I would wake up with numbness in my hand and fingers. Before my Doctor had sent me to an Orthopedic Doctor, and that Doctor send me to therapy. When I started it was a little difficult because I had no strength in my hand, at that time it was difficult to open a water bottle. I was not able to pick up heavy items without pain. Now I am better because now my hand has the strength to open a water bottle. Before, I was referred to another clinic, which never called me, now I am thankful, because of that I was transferred to Spine Solutions." - C.P.

FRACTURED ELBOW

"In May 2024 I sustained an elbow fracture and had some difficulties bending, extending, and lifting my arm. Since starting OT at Spine Solutions, I am now able to do things I was not able to do. I feel more strength in my arm and even though sometimes I don't feeling like coming to therapy twice a week, I tell myself its for the best & need my arm stronger. Thank you to my Doctor for referring me to Spine Solutions, where all the staff are friendly & compassionate." - L.M.

SEVERED RADIAL NERVE IN FINGER

"I was referred to Spine Solutions by my Doctor and am very thankful for his decision to do so. The radial nerve in my left finger had been severed in a workplace accident. Post the resulting surgery, I had very limited strength and mobility. This made tasks such as lifting and articulating objects more difficult. Following my time at Spine Solutions, I have seen significant improvement in both of these areas. I have regained full mobility and strength has returned to normal levels. I no longer experience notable difficulties related to the injury." - A.T.
